Live Tracking of Channel Crossing
Hannah will make history on Thursday 4 June 2015 when she attempts to set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title (pending official ratification by Guinness World Records) for the ‘Fastest crossing of the English Channel in a single-handed dinghy’. Hannah’s latest accomplishment takes place just a week after the launch of Project Speedbird – a world record bid to become the fastest woman on water over one nautical mile.
After setting off from Cap de Gris in France, Hannah and her Moth – an 11’ (3.35m) sail-powered dinghy constructed of carbon fibre that hydroplanes on two foils – will land on a beach south of Folkestone, having successfully negotiated the Channel, which is one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world.
